How Hiring A Commercial Painting Contractor Can Save You Time And Money

Posted on

Painting a large commercial space is not an easy task. Often the ceilings are extremely high, and the space may be very large. Working with a commercial painting contractor to paint the interior of the space is often the best way to handle the task.

Timing of the Paint Work

One of the most important things to consider when hiring a commercial painting contractor to paint inside your commercial space is the timing of the job. If the building is under construction or renovation, you need to determine the best time to get the painters to do the work, but they can't do it until the contractor has the space ready.

Work on any surfaces that will be painted needs to be complete before the painters begin their work, and it is helpful if any work on the floors waits until after the painters have finished. Often the commercial painting contractor will bring in scissor lifts and other equipment that could damage a new floor, or if the floors can wait, put them near the end of the list.

Equipment Costs

When working with a commercial painting contractor, the price they quote for the job includes the work and all the equipment that will need on the job. Most painting contractors already own the equipment they are going to need, so things like lifts, ladders, and spray units will not add to the cost of doing the job.

If you were to try and paint the space yourself or hire people to help, you would also need to rent the equipment to do the job. The final cost of doing the work could quickly exceed the cost of a commercial painting contractor and crew. If you already have access to the lifts and other equipment, you might save some money, but it is unlikely that you would get the same quality when the job is complete.

Time and Efficiency

Working with commercial painting contractors can save a lot of time, so if you are on a tight deadline, let the contractor know, and they can more then likely add people to the crew to complete the job faster. An experienced painting crew that works together daily will understand what they need to do and how to do it in a way that makes everyone's job easier.

The painting crew's efficiency can often trim a lot of time off the job, no matter how large a job it is. It is critical that you discuss the time requirements with the contractor so they can plan the job properly and make sure the crew working in your space makes the deadline for you.
